Stunning 1950's frock! Done in a lighter cotton printed with stunning abstract leaves and flowers. Fitted bodice and waist with dropped waist seam on the full skirt. Wide straps ties at the back. Fitted waist. Bodice is partially interfaced. Skirt has a layer of cheesecloth. Back metal zip. Made in St Thomas Virgin Islands.

*Just like the other popular travel destinations, the West Indies, known back then as the "American Riviera", also had a fashion industry that catered to the tourist trade. Colorful clothing in Caribbean inspired motifs made it back home in the suitcases of many fashionable ladies which was a wearable memory of their tropical vacation.
